Save on Worldwide Accommodations with a Timeshare
Welcome to Travel Journal - learning to save money with timeshares.
Don't Waste Money on Temporary AccommodationsIf you are actively looking for ways to cut down your travel expenses, consider purchasing a timeshare as a convenient and budget-friendly alternative to paying for nightly accommodations every time you travel. Especially in areas where space is limited or a certain standard of quality has been set, lodgings can be expensive, especially if you travel often.
Share the Cost of Ownership and SaveA timeshare, on the other hand, allows owners to divide the cost of their vacation property among several individuals (sometimes as many as fifty). And a vacation property won't tie you down to one locale. It makes sense to buy timeshare in a destination that you enjoy and plan on returning to at least a few times, but it's also very easy to exchange your allotted time at that resort for time at other resorts all over the world.
Exchange Companies are Convenient and Cost-EffectiveThe most common method of timeshare exchange is to buy a timeshare that is affiliated with a vacation club like RCI or Interval International. These organizations create affiliation with thousands of resorts all over the world. They then allow owners of these affiliated properties to buy membership, which will allow them to trade within this network. This method works well because owners can choose to purchase membership each year. It also tends to be more flexible and less expensive than the other alternative, which is to own with a vacation club like the Hyatt timeshare program. However, exchange clubs do not have the same guarantee of quality that you'll find when you are an owner/member of a vacation club.
Vacation Clubs Guarantee a Consistency of QualityLike their hotelier counterparts, vacation club timeshare programs will have properties all over the world. Ownership at one generally guarantees access to all of the resorts in the network. Big name resort corporations generally also ensure a certain level of quality and consistence that you wont find with exchange companies. When you buy Wyndham timeshare in one locale, you can always expect to trade for lodgings of equal quality.
Try Timeshare Rentals FirstIf you're interested in using timeshares to travel, but would like to do some more research, consider a timeshare rental. You can rent a property in a locale you know you'd like to visit, or you can even rent owners points (with either RCI or the specific vacation club) and use the points to "purchase" time at any resort in the network. Try timeshare rentals and, when you're ready to travel the globe on a budget, buy a vacation property. |
